Pastels
Pastels
My blue hair
will be pink soon…
The whimsical nature of pastel blue and cotton candy…
watering cans and
stickers…
In the cool breeze of night,
these things remind me of the garden…
before the rising of the blossoms
In late spring grandeur…
When all colors burst
Onto the scene
Along the scenic highway
To be seen
For miles and miles
Back to my watering cans!
The pierced white top showers
sumptuous rain
on the community garden plot.
Far from a spigot…
I fill up at my childhood house
Mom’s abode,
the balancing act trek,
sloshing as I go,
across the cul de sac
To the creek side.
A loving, happy dog leashed to my hip…
Toting pink and blue
Love for the flowers…
just seeds now
that will burst forth
Yellows, reds, greens, purples…
My word!
Daily, I will do this
Until the rain comes
If Mother Nature decides to show up this year…
so picky on where she chooses to land
these days.
